‘The Jethroverse’ Spinoff Series ‘Multiversal’ Cancels Production—But the Project Isn’t Dead Yet

In the behind-the-scenes episode of the third episode of The Jethroverse Season One, it was announced by producers Rowan Wood, Jarrett Strzepek and Brennen Savery that a spinoff series, titled Multiversal, was in the works. Now, Wood has confirmed that production on the series has been halted, and there are no plans to resume.

The news was announced in a video released on the Screen Avenger YouTube channel, which distributes episodes of The Jethroverse on the video sharing site.

See the video below:

Wood began the video by stating that “a lot of things have been going on behind-the-scenes” of the two series, suggesting that production has either been delayed or has been advancing ahead of schedule. Wood says that he and the other producers have come to an “executive decision” to cancel production on Multiversal.

However, Wood also states that they have a decent amount of “quality footage,” which they have “already filmed,” and they don’t plan to waste it. He further confirmed that the footage will be involved in a new, “revamped” version of The Jethroverse Season Two, which all but confirms that the new season’s storyline will be changed quite a bit from what it originally was to accommodate the inclusion of the Multiversal footage. That’s not to say that the already-filmed footage for Jethroverse will not be included; Wood says that that footage will be used as well, and that the two shows are being combined and changed “for the better.”

Wood admitted that this might cause a delay in the release of the season, but promises that it will be well worth it.

Even though they’re combining the series, all of the footage originally intended for Multiversal may not be used entirely in Jethroverse Season Two, and may be used further in the already-confirmed third season of the show.

The video announcement was concluded by a special sneak peak at the first episode of The Jethroverse Season Two, which has been officially titled An Extraordinary Power. The preview showed Bill Carrington (played by Jarrett Strzepek) returning from a formal event and stopping by a bar at a movie theater, where he encounters the theater worker (Clarence Crowell), who appeared in two episodes of Season One. Bill orders a vodka, forgetting that he isn’t of an age to drink in this dimension.

The Jethroverse Season Two will premiere in 2019.

Jethroverse Season 2 & Multiversal Holiday Trailer Reveals New Cast Members

The Screen Avenger, the YouTube distributor of The Jethroverse, has released a trailer backed with holiday music that announces new cast members that will be included in the upcoming Jethroverse Season Two and the first season of the series spinoff Multiversal, as well as new footage from those respective seasons.

Aside from the previously-announced Brennen Savery (Jethro Smith), Jarrett Strzepek (presumably playing Bill Carrington), Xander McInerney (Vincent Kane), Connor McInerney (Ryker Kane), Rowan Wood (Ezra Thorne), and Clarence Crowell (Theater Worker), the two different series will also see the return of actors such as Tim Wood (playing Geoffrey’s father Tyrelius Jackson), and the debut of Mariana Furner, Quinn Schuyler and Julia Holcomb playing as-yet-unknown characters. However, it is known that most actors shown in the teaser will appear in both shows in 2019.

Along with much of the footage shown in the teasers for Multiversal and The Jethroverse Season 2, audiences also got a glimpse of new footage including, but not limited to, Vincent Kane collapsing, Ezra Thorne pressing a golden object (appearing to be a skull?) to his head, Jethro Smith peering around a corner in Ezras lair, and Tyrelius Jackson in a Christmas-oriented setting.

Multiversal Teaser Trailer Reveals First Look at the Ensemble Jethroverse Series

The official teaser trailer for the first season of the Jethroverse spinoff series Multiversal has been released, offering first looks at the (as-yet-unnamed) main characters that the series will be introducing, and the characters that were introduced in The Jethroverse that will be in the spotlight in Multiversal.

These include Bill Carrington (Jarrett Strzepek), Ryker Kane (Connor McInerney), Vincent Kane (Xander McInerney), Ezra Thorne (Rowan Wood), and unnamed characters played by Mariana Furner, Quinn Schuyler, and one of Ezra's clones (who will no doubt be played by Rowan Wood in scenes of unmasking).

At the end of the teaser, it is revealed that the series is coming in 2019, which was announced yesterday by creator Rowan Wood. That means that the series most likely hasn't completed production, and there's still a ton of footage yet to be released.

‘The Jethroverse’ Season 2 and ‘Multiversal’ Pushed to 2019; Crossover Confirmed

In a surprise announcement, it has been revealed by series creator/producer Rowan Wood that the premiere dates of the second season of The Jethroverse and the first season of spinoff series Multiversal has been pushed to 2019, from the previously-announced late 2018.

The premiere date has been set for a while now, but Wood has waited a while to announce the news. “I wanted to see if plans changed before I made them permanent,” he said in an official statement.

If the series had premiered in late 2018, it would have been in December, Wood further revealed. The new 2019 date will be no more than a few months later, so it won’t be too long before Jethro Smith returns to our screens for brand-new adventures.

Also according to Wood, the two shows will premiere on the same day, and will “be more involved in each other’s business than you might think. There will, in fact, be a crossover across both shows that will feature most, if not all, of the core characters.”

Although there’s currently no further details as to when these crossover episodes will be placed in the respective seasons, we are looking forward to seeing how Jethro crosses paths with the Multiversal crew.

The Jethroverse Season 2 Teaser Trailer Offers First Look at New Worlds, Returning Characters and More

The official teaser trailer for the second season The Jethroverse has been released, and alongside a brief recap of Season 1, revealed a ton of new footage and hints as to where the season will take the main characters.

Glimpsed in the trailer's new footage are Jethro Smith (played by Brennen Savery), Bill Carrington (Jarrett Strzepek), Ezra Thorne (co-creator/writer/director Rowan Wood), Geoffrey Jackson (Lir Wood), and the previously unannounced returns of Tyrelius Jackson (Tim Wood) and the Theater Worker (Clarence Crowell), alongside a creepy red-clad figure.

Although the trailer doesn't reveal a specific premiere date, it is 'COMING SOON,' which means that it could premiere either later this year or sometime in 2019. The premiere of a trailer, though, means that at least a decent portion of the series has been filmed.

As of yet, there's no sign of a trailer for the in-production Jethroverse spinoff, Multiversal.

Brennen Savery Will Play More Than One Character in ‘The Jethroverse’ Season Two

In the first season of The Jethroverse, star Brennen Savery primarily portrayed Jethro Smith, but in the season’s third episode, Discovery, he played at least four of the character’s doppelgängers from around the multiverse.

In the currently-filming second season of the show, Savery has been confirmed to be regularly playing the different “Jethros,” in addition to Jethro Smith.

Co-creator and executive producer Rowan Wood says that “Brennen has a talent for playing multiple characters that are so different, but also so alike because of their appearance and age. He’ll be on screen with himself at the same time more than once this season, playing all sorts of different Jethros.”

In addition to The Jethroverse Season 2 news, it’s also been revealed that Jethro Smith is not the main role that Savery will be playing in the first season of Jethroverse spinoff Multiversal, and he’ll be primarily playing Jory Smith, a character who he played in the Jethroverse Season 1 finale. However, even though it’s not his main character, Savery will be playing Jethro Smith in at least one episode.

The Jethroverse Season Two and Multiversal Season One will premiere later this year on Cape Cod’s Channel 99 and on YouTube.

‘The Jethroverse’ Renewed for Two More Seasons

The first season of The Jethroverse has barely returned for the conclusion of the first season, but already the series has been renewed for Seasons 2 & 3.

The renewal comes from the Screen Avenger, who hosts The Jethroverse on YouTube. The channel is spearheaded by Rowan Wood, the co-creator, writer and director of The Jethroverse.

Season 2 is expected to debut in late 2018, and Brennen Savery will return as Jethro Smith, alongside Jarrett Strzepek, John Shortis and Lir Wood as Mallory, Johann and Geoffrey, respectively. However, the roles of the latter three will be toned down drastically. According to Rowan Wood, “Jethro and his adventures throughout the multiverse are the main focuses this season.”

There’s no word yet on when Season 3 will premiere, but it’s in active development, according to Wood. “We’re trying something new for this season,” he said. “I hope fans will enjoy it.”

The Jethroverse returns June 30 on Cape Cod’s Channel 99. Multiversal will premiere later in 2018.

Characters Will Die in ‘The Jethroverse’ Season One; Will Affect Spinoff Series

A spinoff series of The Jethroverse, titled Multiversal, was recently confirmed, with an (as yet unknown) core cast and an independent story that will still connect with the main series.

Rowan Wood, co-creator of The Jethroverse, has revealed that not everybody will survive the freshman season of the series, and that these deaths will, in turn, affect Multiversal.

“We needed to give our main characters motivation,” said Wood. “If everything went on as normal before Jethro received an e-mail from Mallory, it wouldn’t give the characters the motivations and arcs they need. People will die before the season ends.”

By saying ‘season’ and not ‘series,’ Wood may be implying that there will be more than one season of The Jethroverse, but that’s not exactly new information.

As to who will die, it’s unlikely that it will be any of the heroes (Jethro and Johann). Secondary characters such as Geoffrey Jackson and Ezra Thorne are not as ensured, and William Mallory, the villain of the series, is far from safe.

And how will these deaths affect Multiversal? “The spinoff series won’t deal with the aftermath of these deaths,” said Wood. “I’m leaving that for the future of The Jethroverse. But Multiversal will delve into the concept of how these deaths affect the multiverse as a whole—if they even do have an effect at all.”

The Jethroverse returns this June on Cape Cod’s Channel 99. Multiversal will premiere later in 2018.

Vincent Kane Confirmed to Return to ‘The Jethroverse’ Before ‘Multiversal’

Xander McInerney made his debut as the mysterious character of Vincent Kane in the recently-released episode 3 of The Jethroverse, in which it is revealed his character is associated with the enigmatic Parliament.

Now, the official Jethroverse Instagram account has confirmed that the character will be returning in an episode of The Jethroverse Season One before McInerney begins starring in the recently-announced spinoff series, Multiversal.

Check out the post below:
In an exclusive quote, director and writer Rowan Wood stated that “Vincent will return, and alongside him will be a new character who will also be a prominent part of Multiversal.”

It’s still unknown which episode Vincent will return in, or how large his role will be, but it’s interesting to know that he still has more to contribute to the main series before crossing over into his own show.

The Jethroverse continues this Saturday at 9pm on YouTube and 11pm on Cape Cod’s Channel 99. Multiversal will premiere later in 2018.

‘The Jethroverse’ Spinoff ‘Multiversal’ Confirms Production

Prior to episode 3 of The Jethroverse being released, it was rumored that two spinoffs of the series were in the works.

Now, co-creator Rowan Wood has confirmed on the behind-the-scenes show Behind  The Jethroverse that at least one spinoff series is in the works.

Producers and stars Jarrett Strzepek and Brennen Savery assisted Wood in the announcement, confirming that the series is called Multiversal and that it will premiere later in 2018. Additionally, they revealed that they will reprise their roles from The Jethroverse, and they will be playing new characters as well. Genevieve Sull No Longer Starring in ‘The Jethroverse’

After a previous announcement that singer and actress Genevieve Sull will feature in seven episodes of the second season of The Jethroverse, producers have confirmed that Sull’s character and scenes were cut from every episode. Sull was set to play Carrie Voss, a drug dealer with a mysterious backstory and ties to several lead characters.

This came hot on the heels of a rumor that the creators and producers of The Jethroverse are working on not one, but two spinoff series, now that the main series has premiered and found success on both YouTube and public access television.

Not much is known about the (unconfirmed) spinoffs, but it is rumored that one of them will feature a character from The Jethroverse forming a team to fight a villain who will also cross over from The Jethroverse. Only time will tell, but it seems that, after a debut in the second season of the series, Sull’s character, Carrie Voss, was due to cross over into one or both of the spinoff series.

The second spinoff series will reportedly be produced and spearheaded by a newcomer to the shared universe (whose name has not yet been revealed) but will center around a brand-new character, who is sure to cross over with the other two series eventually.

After Sull’s debut was canceled, it’s possible she will play the character in a future season or series. It’s also possible the character will be recast, and will make her debut as planned. The nature of Sull’s departure from the series is unknown.

The Jethroverse continues this Saturday at 9pm on YouTube and 11pm on Cape Cod’s Channel 99.
