‘Drake & Wayne’ Teaser Trailer and Synopsis Provide First Look at the Jethroverse Spinoff

Mirror Pool Picture Motions has released the official teaser trailer for the very first Jethroverse spinoff, Drake & Wayne.

The trailer begins showing the Superintendent (Cayde Barrera) informing Drake (Max Papsadore) and Wayne (Patrick Morahan) that they have to work together on a case. All three characters will make their debuts in the third season of The Jethroverse, so it's probably safe to say that they'll mend their differences, seeing as this is a prequel.

Watch the trailer here:

Also featured in the trailer is the villain Argos Blade (Satria Knight) doing some acrobatics), Drake and Wayne lost in the desert, an unnamed character played by Nick Stewart getting threatening on an ornately-dressed individual (Ryan Hall), Richard D. Johnson (Caleb Petty) maniacally laughing, Wayne wrestling with a puppet, a surprise appearance by Kermit the Frog, and much more.

The trailer description also included a humorous synopsis:
Ever since hulking lawman Drake (Maximus Papsadore), a loyal agent of the Multiversal Police Department, and lawless outcast Wayne (Patrick Morahan), a former MVPD cadet, first faced off in 2015’s Furious 7, the duo have swapped smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down. But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Argos (Satria Knight) gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever — and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent (Trainspotting's Ewan McGregor), who just happens to be Shaw’s sister — these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than themselves.
It's clear from the trailer and synopsis that the story of Drake & Wayne will be satirical and comedic, and not completely serious. It might be a nice change of pace from The Jethroverse, though, given the dark nature of the Season 2 finale.

The end of the trailer proclaimed that the series is coming 'Soon-Ish,' which most likely means it will premiere in either late 2019 or early- to mid-2020. Whenever that may be, we'll be here with the scoop.

‘The Jethroverse’ Spinoff ‘Drake & Wayne’ Announced

Following the casting of Patrick Morahan, Max Papsadore and Cayde Barrera in the third season of The Jethroverse, a spinoff starring the three has been officially announced.

Entitled Drake & Wayne, the six-episode limited series will follow the titular time police and also feature appearances by their Superintendent (Barrera) and Caleb Petty as Richard D. Johnson, Drake’s former partner.

In addition to Barrera and Petty, the episodes will also star Satria Knight as the villain, Argos Blade, among others.

It’s unknown as to when the series will premiere, but a 2020 date is likely because the third season of The Jethroverse will take up the later half of 2019.
